[ In the midst of all the lovin' feeling in the air, Nott has found Jester to be both the easiest of her friends to shop for and somehow one of the hardest? Because, like, Nott knows what she likes, definitely, but also, what if she already gets herself all the stuff she likes?

Whatever, it's fine. One of the things she loves about Jester is that she is unfailingly supportive of Nott's worst best ideas, so. This should be no different. ]

Nott! [Still strange, to go back to saying 'Nott' instead of Veth, but Jester's getting used to it, day by day.] Something? For leetle old me? You shouldn't have!

[Color her intrigued! Literally seconds later, Jester is skidding down the hall and knocking on Nott's door with both fists. Twenty-four hours? How about twenty-four seconds!]

[ Nott beams up at Jester when she opens the door, teeth on full display, and waves her in. The door can remain open or closed once Jester's in, as far as she's concerned. This isn't a particularly secret exchange. ]

Hi! C'mere. [ Her room still has the air of a guest room, even after a couple of weeks of residence: the belongings she had on her when she arrived are piled next to the bed, but there's not much in the way of personal touches otherwise. She pats the bed for Jester to sit down, and then ducks underneath it to retrieve something. ]

[ Muffled: ] So I wanted to tell you-- [ She pops up with a large, flat, pink paper box in her hands. ] I dunno, I've just been thinking a lot about, well, how lucky I am. So I wanted to tell you. [ She places the box on the bed and pushes it towards Jester. ] That I'm lucky you wouldn't leave us alone.

[ Inside the box, Jester will find a dozen donuts, glazed, sprinkled, filled, and all as brightly colored as she could manage. ]

Hiii! [Jester beams, toothy smile 4 toothy smile, and follows after Nott with a bounce in her step, glancing around the room a little to inspect the few belongings Nott has dumped on the floor. She parks her butt on the edge of the bed, and her eyes go wide as she's presented with a big pink box that looks and smells suspiciously like a bakery box.

Her face lights up as Nott tells her that she's lucky, lucky for Jester's persistence, and there's a misty edge to her expression as she opens the box, cooing softly.]

Oh...No-ooott, [she sing-songs, nearly a happy wail as she takes in those beautiful donuts nestled inside.] That's the nicest thing ever. Thank you! These look incredible!

[ She hops up onto the bed and scootches up next to Jester; Nott is not always cuddly, but right now she's feeling the love. ]

Are you kidding? I love them. They are almost too pretty to eat...!

[Almost. Jester slides an arm around Nott's bony shoulders without question, happy to have her friend here and a giant box of donuts to share.]

You really didn't have to do this, you know! [she says as she takes a massive bite of one of the doughnuts.]

Yeah, I didn't have to. [ She selects a donut for herself. ] But, y'know, you don't do things for people you love 'cause you have to.

[Jester's gaze slides sideways from the donuts down to Nott, her lips curling into a mischievous smile.]

You looooove me, [she needles.] Don't worry, I won't tell anyone!

[ Instant defensiveness. ] YOU'RE VERY LOVABLE.

[Jester just beams down at Nott, and then bends to plant a sugary kiss between her ears.]
